With so many different pitching styles out there and the belief that it isn’t our way or the highway – we like to evaluate each pitcher’s natural pitching motion, body structure, flexibility and level of performance first; then mold a specific plan of action to improve their overall skills as a pitcher. We want each pitcher to gain knowledge of all aspects of pitching and understand their role mentally and physically, not just make them pitch faster or give them a long list of satisfactory pitches. They need a fundamentally strong foundation and should be a master of each pitch in their repertoire, which is why we cover: – Fundamental pitching motion with focus on natural body movement to reduce risk of injury – Accuracy while working the corners – Movement with every pitch – Speed with use of legs, arms and wrist snap – Mental Game, when to throw what…and why – Communication with catchers – Proper Warm-up and stretching techniques – Practice Drills to take home for spaces large to small All while having fun in an open environment built to make each pitcher comfortable, relaxed and educated. All Ages Welcome!

This is a video I made for my physics class. I hope you enjoy it.

Some debate on what is a legal pitch: you decide and comment below. ASA rules apply. There are two pitchers shown. I believe one has a nasty, but subtle crow hop and the other is a long toe drag. A long crow hop can easily get the pitcher 2-4 feet closer to the plate, providing a significant advantage. Filmed at a 11-12 year old girls softball tournament.

September 11th 2010 – Northwest Forsyth American Little League NC – She has wanted to pitch since the All Star season ended. She’s only practiced for 2 months over the summer. I though she did really good for her first game. She pitched 2 innings – struck out 3 and walked 3.
